“Scoraíocht Dhiarmuda & Ghráinne, Ar Oileán an Ghnáth” – A Magical, Fun-filled, and Hilarious Pantomime to be Staged at Amharclann Ghaoth Dobhair**
Amharclann Ghaoth Dobhair is thrilled to announce the upcoming pantomime “Scoraíocht Dhiarmuda & Ghráinne, Ar Oileán an Ghnáth”, a newly written pantomime by the talented author Eoghan Mac Giolla Bhríghde. It will be performed by Aisteoirí Ghaoth Dobhair from February 28th to March 2nd, promising an unforgettable experience for audiences of all ages.
Set in a magical world, “Scoraíocht Dhiarmuda & Ghráinne” unveils a story filled with humour, magic, romance, and mischief. The story centres on the arranged marriage between Prince Diarmuid and Princess Gráinne, a union that could bring peace and prosperity to their kingdoms. However, the dark sorceress Mórígan and her partner, the bloodthirsty vampire Abhartach, scheme to disrupt this union for their own gains.
Featuring a variety of characters, such as Dagda the Druid, King Lugh, the jester Manannán, Brigid, Nancy the banshee, and the mysterious character Bi-Dad a Mhac, the story traverses magical forests, grand castles, and mysterious laboratories. This family-friendly pantomime blends traditional fairy tale elements with contemporary humour and satire, taking the audience on an entertaining journey.
This production, born from Eoghan Mac Giolla Bhríghde’s creative genius, is sure to mesmerise the audience from start to finish. “We’re very excited to bring this magical story to life at Amharclann Ghaoth Dobhair,” said Mac Giolla Bhríghde. “We hope to bring tears to the eyes of our audience, young and old, tears of joy from laughter, of course” he added.
